It was Anakin's first time being fed baby food. We started out with green beans (my favorite) but he wasn't a fan of it. He preferred the sweet peas and carrots. Can't blame him...he's got Mommy's sweet tooth! I love how every time he eats a spoonful of whatever baby food I give him, he accompanies his bite with a "Mmmmm". LOL. I will have to record and show you all some day. It's the cutest thing ever!

What's in my diaper bag (for a 5 month old) ?
I always enjoy watching those "What's in my diaper bag" videos on YouTube and wanted to do one of my own. Here is what I'm currently using as a diaper bag. It's a LeSportsac medium weekender bag that I got at TJ Maxx for around $40 bucks. Just like I am with my purses/handbags (refer to previous post) I am also picky with my diaper bags. Here are the requirements that must meet my expectations:
1. It has to be one strapped with shorter double straps in case I need to grab it that way.
2. It has to have lots of outside pockets to store bottles, wipes, toys, nukis, etc.
3. The material has to be easily cleaned and spill proof.
4. The overall size cannot be long since I'm short and long diaper bags hit my knees when I use them.
5. Price pays a big role too. It can't be more than $50 dollars.
This weekender bag met all of my requirements so I snatched it up!
Here is what's inside my diaper bag for a 5 month old:
- Diapers (not pictured) currently using Pampers Swaddlers. My husband likes the wetness indicator line.
- Wipes. Currently using Pampers Sensitive wipes and I put them in the Huggies wipe travel case.
- Changing pad. I ordered my gray chevron print changing pad on Etsy.com from https://www.etsy.com/shop/lauriesladybug for $18 bucks and I love it for it's long and wide shape. Also, it's very easy to clean. I loved it so much I bought 2 for my 2 sister in-laws who also had babies this year.
- Mum+Bub Soothing Ointment. BEST invention ever! My baby's bum hasn't had a rash since switching over to this from Aquaphor and The Honest Company.
- Extra clothes for him in case of accidents.
- Burp cloth.
- His favorite toys. At the moment, his green tether/rattler from Innobaby and Moby the Fish from Haba Toys.
- A baby carrier. I'm currently using a Hmong traditional baby carrier that my Mother in-law gifted us.
- The small LeSportsac pouch with extra items (see below).
Inside this pouch I have:
- EOS chapstick
- Bug Spray from The Honest Company (although I should take that out since Summer is over and now I have to worry about chapped skin)
- Breast pads (currently using Lansinoh)
- Panty liners
- Hand Sanitizer from Jurlique
- Baby nail clipper
What's in your diaper bag? I'd love to see! Comment below and I promise I'll come check yours out.

What's My New Bag?
I'm very peculiar when it comes to purses/handbags. In fact, I only have about 10 purses and handbags total! I don't like all-over patterns/prints, I don't gravitate towards double straps, and I don't want to pay more than $50 bucks for a bag. The most expensive I've ever paid for a bag is $80 bucks and that's my Ivanka Trump bag I got at TJ Maxx last year. So, you can imagine all the fuss I went through to find THE PERFECT handbag for me now that I'm a mom. Yeah, it was pretty ridiculous at times. These other ladies who saw me rummaging through the purse isles at the stores are probably scared for life! But you know? Now that I'm a mom, there's certain aspects in a handbag that I absolutely need - such as:
1. The strap has to be adjustable so if I need to wear it cross-body style, I can quickly do so. This does not work on a double strap purse so that automatically voided those types of bags out.
2. It has to be small enough so that I can quickly stuff it inside Anakin's diaper bag if it has to but, big enough to hold my wallet that has all of my information/cards/money/etc. It has to be big enough to hold my chapstick, my cellphone, my car keys, breast pads, thin pads and floss.
3. It has to have lots of outside pockets that are big enough to access and hold my cellphone and my car keys.
4. It has to be weather/baby material proof. Meaning, if I spill something on it, it can easily be cleaned.
5. For reason #4, it can't be more than $50 dollars so in case I accidentally spill something on it, I won't be as bummed out about it.
So you see, these necessities are simple but finding a bag that has all of these qualities are hard. That's why I snatched this bag up quickly when I saw it this weekend at my local TJ Maxx store. It had all of these qualities plus it only costs me $19.99! What a deal/steal! I'm set for now...

Citrus Lane - November 2013
I received my Citrus Lane subscription box on Friday and here is my review. If you would like to see my other Citrus Lane box reviews, then click here. This box is for my 5 month old son and this month's Citrus Lane theme is "Food" since this month begins the holiday season with Thanksgiving.
1. Clutch from Boon - value $11.99
2. Lip Comfort from Pur~lisse - value $8.00
3. Twist Teether from Green Toys - value $10.99
4. Super Bib from Bumkins - value $6.95
5. Tiny Prints unique code - value $0
Total estimated value of November box = $37.93
This months box was not as great as September and October's boxes but, its still very good considering I paid $25 for this box and received items almost totaling $40 dollars. My favorite item in this months box is the Super Bib by Bumkins. I'll be starting Anakin on baby food soon and have only 1 waterproof bib in his drawer so this was a sign that he's almost ready for baby food. I won't be using the Clutch Dishwasher Basket from Boon because I don't use my dishwasher so I'll be giving this away as a baby shower gift. I also thought the Tiny Prints coupon code for four sets of address labels and free shipping was pointless because it requires a $99 minimum purchase. I always send out Christmas cards to family and friends - and I have a lot - but I never pay more than $50 to have mine done and this amount includes shipping costs. So, I will not be using the coupon code but if you love Tiny Prints and want to use this offer, please let me know and I will be more than happy to give it to you.
I also liked the Twist Teether from Green Toys because for me it's safe for Anakin. It's made from 100% recycled plastic that's free from BPA, phthalates and PVC < Yay! And it has round edges for safe griping and gnawing. Anakin likes it because he can grab it, chew it, and it rattles. This product is also dishwasher safe for those of you who use your dishwasher. And last, the Lip Comfort by Pur~lisse was a nice "Mommy" gift. I have a good stash of lip balm, chapstick, lip butters, lip etc. so this would make a great addition to it.
Subscriptions can be purchased 4 different ways:

Holiday Inspiration
The holidays are so so near that I can smell it - literally... I'm baking some pumpkin bread as I'm typing this and reminding myself to put up the Christmas decor earlier than ever since I will be hosting my family's Christmas party this year. I got the JCP holiday catalog in the mail today and this tree caught my eyes!
I will be attempting to make my 10 foot faux tree look like this picture this year. Wish me luck!

And the JCrew Style catalog also came in the mail today - woohoo! Here are 2 of my favorite looks. I'm thinking of pulling off the look on the right to my husband's company holiday party in a couple of weeks. I'm so digging plaid this holiday season! What are your holiday inspirations?

5 Months of Bliss!
Seriously, can my little monster get any cuter?!! He is perfect in every which way. I love this little dude so so much! He turned 5 months on November 7th and here is an update on how fast he is growing. It's so bittersweet...
He can roll back and forth now. That's how he travels from one side of the room to the other. It's amazing! LOL.
He loves his Innobaby Teether/Rattler (that was in his Citrus Lane October box). He knows how to reach for it, grab it, and chew on it like a grown adult! Other mothers are so impressed by his knowledge to play and interact with toys. I can tell, this kid is going to love toys and gadgets like his Daddy (and me)!
He's got a temper like his Mommy. Let's just leave it at that. Haha.
He loves trying to bite and eat people's faces. He will literally go at their faces like a zombie baby and he comes with the sound effects too. LOL!
He can almost sit up by himself. I can't wait until he can. Once he can sit up by himself, I will start him on baby food. I think I will cry once I do because it just means he's growing up - again, it's bittersweet.
He smiles and smiles all the time - to family and to strangers. This kid is such a happy baby and very social. I love this aspect about him. I hope this part never dies from his personality.
As the holidays approaches, I get more and more excited because of this little guy who is now a part of my life. He does make this light of mine glow brighter. I'm so blessed to finally have him a part of my life. Thank you God for giving him to me.

Monster Bash - A Family Affair
The great thing about hosting a Halloween party after Halloween is that everything is on sale for at least half off! Of course though, being the control-freak that I am, I planned this Monster Bash like 3 months in advance and had purchased 90% of my party supplies before Halloween. I used as many coupons as I could find and really price compared a lot. Overall, the party was a huge success. Both sides of our families attended and dressed up. The kiddos stayed up with the adults until midnight and everyone enjoyed themselves. I'm already looking forward to next year's party and the great thing about that is that I've already got most of the decor! Here are some pictures from the Monster Bash and the video of our costume show.
