5 Things Lately

Today, I'm sharing a few things I've been into lately. Read on to see what I've been wearing a lot, new brands I've discovered, what new baby items I'm trying out, what I've been eating, and what I've been obsessing over.

MadeByMary Zola Disc Necklace

Currently wearing a lot lately: my Mother's Day gift- a MadeByMary necklace. This necklace is called the Zola disc necklace and is custom made just for you! I love this necklace because it's so dainty but the circle makes a huge statement. People can't help but stare and wonder what's written on it. This piece matches most of what's in my wardrobe and I love that it's a brushed matte finish instead of a glossy finish. I also love her other necklaces such as her bar necklaces and her disc chains. I can tell that I'll be wearing a lot more pieces from this company because they're the perfect fit for my style.

Lush Smocking Dress http://bit.ly/2ro4GWT

Currently discovered: Lush clothing brand. So, I was online shopping late one night after a stressful day and stumbled upon this casual, summer dress. Just what I was looking for! Something summer-y and well made within a $50 price range. I thought I'd give it a try and if it doesn't work out, I could always return it. Plus, I'm going through my postpartum weight loss journey and who knows if it'll even fit right. So, I got it and tried it on and was pleasantly surprised that it fit perfectly. The right length and all since I'm short. I've since been searching more about their company and found at least 10 different items that I really really want! So if you haven't hear about this brand yet, go check it out and see if it's for you too.

Currently trying out new baby item: the baby sling. I've always been intrigued by it but never had the courage to really try it out until now (my 3rd baby). I don't know... to me, the sling just seemed unsafe and not sturdy enough to hold a baby. I have tried baby wraps and baby carriers but wanted to venture into something more stylish and easy to use. The wraps are too long and take a long time to get ready for baby. The carriers are too stiff and boxy for me. I want something lightweight, can hold baby safely, and look stylish doing so. I still have to get the hang of it but, so far so good.

Currently eating: these thin and crispy dark chocolate chip cookies from Pepperidge Farm. They are amazing! I have this obsession for salty and sweet combination food items and this is the icing on the cake! They're also thin and crispy which is forgiving on my soft gums. If you haven't tried these yet, do so! They are life changing (okay maybe that was a bit dramatic) but, seriously... go try them! Currently eating: these thin and crispy dark chocolate chip cookies from Pepperidge Farm.

Currently obsessing: bows- hair bows to be exact. Not for me but for me. Do you understand??? Lol.
In just the past few months, I've shamelessly acquired lots of hair bows for me- errr, I mean my daughters. They've become this secret obsession of mine and I'd like to finally admit to them. I mean, they're just hair accessories right? What could be soooooo special about them?! See... but you are wrong my friend. They're more than a hair accessory- they're a way of life! A style statement. A little piece of fashion that lets the world know who you are by not saying a single word. Yeah, you can tie your daughter's hair up in a ponytail or braid it into pigtails, but then add a hair bow or two and WAHLAAAAhhhh.... you've got the most cutest, stylish babe ever! These are magic. Plus, some are unicorn bows and are selling like hot cakes on my FB groups... let's just say, some women are willing to dish out $200 for a piece of fabric that goes on a little girl's hair. So, it's a way of living. Ya know?? lol

4 Awesome Things I Love About My Preschooler

This post is all about Anakin because today is his 4th birthday. Happy birthday to you, Anakin!!!! You have changed my world for the better in every single way. I'm so blessed to have an intelligent and loving son like you.

Since today is his official birth date and he's now 4 years old, I thought I'd share 4 special things about him.

1. He's got a love for music. This kid has always loved music since he was a baby. It started with music end credits from movies. Now, it's evolved into music on the radio. This kid has an incredible memory and can memorize lyrics to a song after just a few times hearing it. His current favorite is Blackbird (from the movie, Baby Boss) and Die a Happy Man by Nelly. I love listening to this kid belt out the lyrics with so much passion! I hope this love for music never goes away because I'm really looking forward to seeing him sing in school concerts.

2. He loves both of his sisters very much. Sure, he had a rough start with Ruby, but now they are like salt and pepper. Glued to each other at all times. She also looks up to him and copies whatever he does. I'm so happy they have each other. It was very rough for me at first to have them both be babies but now that they're older and so close in age, they've got a love for one another that can only be explained or known if you've got that kind of relationship with your siblings. He also loves his baby sister so much. He can't get enough of her and I'm happy we went with the name he picked out for her. Molly suits her so well. It's like he knew from the very beginning!

3. He's got a love for trains. I thought that he would grow out of it by now but he still loves trains very much. I don't even know where he got the obsession from but it suits him well because he's got such a great memory, he can remember all of the trains and their names. He knows which train makes which noise and what type of train they are. He loves them so much, he named his baby sister after one. LOL!

4. He tells me every night before we go to sleep that he loves me. And that, my friends, is worth every thing in the universe to me.

Happy Birthday Anakin!

Transitioning from two kids to three

When I had Ruby (my 2nd child) it was very difficult. It was a hard pregnancy at first because I had bad morning sickness and motion sickness. The labor was difficult and I had to get induced again. The recovery was worse and then my husband only had 1 week of leave from his job which was filled with doctor visits and checkups. My son was only 16 months at the time and still very young to understand what was going on and then Ruby was colicky for 1 full year. Transitioning from one child to two was a dark place for me. I had plenty of help but both of my kids wanted nobody else but me. My husband had a new job and was not home that often. So you could say, I went through a very challenging transition. So when I found out I was pregnant with my 3rd child, all the negative memories came crushing through. What was I getting myself into now?! Having 2 kids was bad enough for my mental state. Three would totally destroy it. I was nervous but, I so wanted this child. I prayed really hard that baby 3 would be an angel for me. And so far, it seems my prayers were answered.

Transitioning from 2 kids to 3 kids have been easy-peezy for me. One- because my two kids are "older" so they understand what's going on around them. Two- because they're older they're more independent and since they're so close in age, they have become the best of friends and keep each other company. Three- my husband was able to take a month off from his job to stay home with me when Molly arrived. So that helped a lot!!! Seriously, I can't say enough how important number three was for me. Just having that support and the help after postpartum was such a burden off my shoulders. Not only was my husband there to help, but my mother in-law also took a week off to come help. She helped watched my older 2 kids when we were hospitalized. Its a good thing Molly didn't have any jaundice or complications and we were released a day after giving birth. Transitioning this time was very pleasant and makes me want to have baby number 4 right away. LOL!

Anakin turns Four

Anakin turns 4 years old in a week, but we threw a birthday party for him Memorial Weekend since all of his cousins and aunties and uncles were coming into town. We had it at the National Railroad Museum here in Green Bay (his favorite place in the entire world) and it was a day to remember! First off, the weather was perfect on Saturday- sunny, warm but not humid and no sight of rain. Something rare for Wisconsin in Spring. Then, Sunday came (his birthday party day) and it poured down that morning ... like a lot. The plan was to grill some food and bring over to the museum so our guests could eat there. So, he had to grill in our garage. Which was fine except it stunk up the garage. It was a crazy morning at the house because we had a ton of family over and little kids running around every where. Good thing I am a planner and had planned for a chaotic morning so I had things laid out 2 weeks in advance. Boxes full of stuff I needed to bring to the party was packed away and ready to go. I had the party favors done and neatly organized and all that had to be done was get ready, get the kids ready, and go!

The venue was nicely decorated and ready by the time we arrived. The host came out in the parking lot and greeted us. He was very very nice and welcoming. Our guests enjoyed touring the museum and riding on the train ride. Anakin had awesome birthday presents and an awesome birthday cake from the venue and every kid enjoyed it so much that they were looking forward to Anakin's birthday next year already. LOL!

It was a fun time and I would do it again at the train museum. For accommodating that many people- especially kids, they did an awesome job! I wish I would have taken more pictures of that day but I had my hands full as you can imagine. Oh- and Molly was PERFECT. All she did was eat and sleep. Again... the perfect baby. It makes my life easier.

It was an epic birthday party. All of the little kids want to know if Anakin's birthdays will be here from now on. All I have to say to that is, if this kid continues to want to have it here, I'll keep doing them for him. We love him!

Molly is One Month Old

It's hard to believe that Molly is already a month old today. We welcomed our third addition on Monday, April 24th and after not agreeing on any names- we decided to name her Molly which her brother picked out. You see, Anakin is into Thomas the Train and there is a yellow train on the show named, Molly. He really likes that train and was set on that name for his new baby sister. And now that she's a month old, I can say that he picked out the perfect name for her. She is such a calm baby. She sleeps through the loudest noises- in fact, she loves noise. She sleeps through the night already and is nursing like a champ! She still has a lot of gas which she will learn to pass through her system but right now, her grunts are so cute. She takes the pacifier and she seems to be doing well in her car seat and on car rides. She also likes water, the sound of running water, and taking baths. So pretty much, she's been a dream come true! By far, she's the best baby I've had so far which makes wanting a 4th one right away seem like a possibility BUT... let's not go there just yet! LOL.
